Tokyo… Tokyo is big. I havent really seen anything here, but there are some things worth mentioning:

1. public toilets: you can see normal toilets as we are used to, but generally they are diffrent. I dont know the word in english, so if you are interested in that topic, just look it up yourself ( a bit researching wont heard you!) But I must say, I think is a good way – more hygenic :)

2. private toilet(s): We are staying at my friends house (God bless Eriko!) and that is pretty cool – the seat is heated (so comfy in a cold house), and the washing basin is integreated in the flush, so the water you use to wash your hands will be used to flush the toilet later – so simple and so clever!!! Thats a thing the ozzies should think about!!! :D

3. Trains: its a bit dificult to find it first out: there are two diffrent train/subway system with diffrent tickets… But buying the ticket is clever as well – at once you can through all your money in and not one after anonther. Then the ticket-check-machine (how ever youll call it) can handle tickets of diffrent sizes! Cool! AND thats even more crazy: the really lazy once just put some money on their mobile phone and pay with that… for the train ticket! :D

4. Taxi: the doors open and shut automatically – that acutally means that it can hurt you when you are not prepared ;) But I guess in times of swine flu etc. its cool that you dont have to touch it (of course the train doors open automatically as well).

5. Tokio has quite corners. I didnt suspect that, but here we are!

6. Winter: ok, I admit it, this is nothing special to Japan or Tokyo, but the air smells like winter, is clear and fresh. I had forgotten that this smell exists – and here in one of the biggest citys in the world I was reminded!

Thats basically all what I have seen for now, but Ive only just arrived and havent done any sightseeing etc. yet, so I think it is already quite impresive.

Sydney by the way gave us a great last day. It was sunny and warm. Our flight left at 10 pm so we had enough time to pack and go to the beach. The flight was ok. Time always runs by and now even faster… :D
