Ah, I am tired. I had a nice, soft bed and a quite night, but anyway I am tired. It was late yesterday and my cold doesnt help. Never mind.
At the moment we are in Posadas, but before telling about here, I should write more about Salto.
As Eva told we arrived late on Monday and were super tired, because we both didnt sleep the night before and only barly in the bus. But as you arrive at a open minded house there were about 8-10 people hanging around and chatting – so of course you just cant go to bed immediatly
But on the other hand it was also quite interesting and I talked a lot with Alvero, a very smart and good-looking urugayo
Then we got some food (YEAH!!!) and went to bed. The next day we went to the Termals and it was actually to hot to enjoy the hot hot water there – but at night it got better and we relaxed as best as we could – they had very loud music running in the background! At about 8 pm we took the bus home and as we just arrived at the house, Alvero was passing by and asked us, if we want to come with him – they will cook and play some music (Rumba etc.) FOOD – of course we went with him. It was like a community centre, a big hall where they had many drums to parctise “Candombe” etc. After a while more people arrived (mostly on a motorbike with the guitarre on the hand *crazy*). They started to play music and live music is always great and even this one – they played Buena Vista Social Club and it just sounded great. We stayed there till 1 am and then got a sightseeing tour through Salto by night. It was freezing cold (atumn here) and we got home.
The next days we did nothing special, just sleeping long and pasing through the city and to the Rio Uruguay. On Thursday we planed to leave, but it didnt worked out so we stayed till Saturday and didnt miss the awesome costume party.
The rest of the time we where making bracelets and just relaxed. On Saturday we went to eat a great Chivito and then packed our stuff and went to the puerto… We crossed the border again – but this time trough the river! Back in Concordia we had a lot of time so we bought some stuff to made more bracelets and went to the internet cafe (the last post is from there). You might think that this is not important but its just crazy what can happen if you start to talk to people (what I do all the time
) So we were in this cafe and the guy was asking where we from and I said of course Alemania. So when he was closing the cafe, I just wanted to know one more thing – a recomendation for a nice cafe here. He gave the information and we started to chat more and as so often I started to explain our route for the next year (which I can do in 10 seconds, so often I have told it!) He heard that we pass also Australia and just said that he will give us the adress of a good friend of him and that we can stay with him!!!!!! WHAT??? The adress of a friend? In Australia? Its just so crazy – so now we have a place where to stay on our trip in Australia
What would you think, Daniel, if I gave your adress to a guy who told me the right way? The people here are just so diffrent. They dont have a lot, but what they have they share! Sorry to say that, but the germans are in that way quite diffrent. The first thing what the would do, where think about what BAD could happen. Here they just think about helping each other… But of course – not everybody here is like that and of course also not in Germany.
Oh, in Salto we met a girl and she earns 150 US$!!!! 150!! This is just crazy – of course everything is cheaper here, but anyway – this serves for nothing! And she has a child! We are so lucky in Germany! They live here in very basic standards, but people are still happy and enjoying life as good as they can. This means for you: Be HAPPY!
We had a good trip during the night to Posadas, but anyway sleeping is not the same in a bus than in a bed, so we arrived very exhausted. The first thing we did was going to the centre to find a open Cyber (Internetcafe) and check if Nieve did answer my couchsurf request – and she did! We could stay in with her and there was also a guy from London… I tried to call here then like a million times, but she didnt pick the phone. Stupid situation: Heavy backpacks, middle of the city, everything closes, sun burning, exhausted and no place to go. We left the backpacks in a hotel (the nice one, not where the stupid people work!!!) We went then to the River which seperates Paraguay and Argentina (PARAGUAY is soooo close…) and heard Harry Potter 7
Later back in the city we checked the cinema and found a nice movie! I called Nieve again and she picked the phone (Gods blessing!!!). We went to the cinema and afterwards we met Nieve and Daniel, the guy from London.
The flat is great. In Salto we slept on matraces but on the floor. Here we have a bed and everything is so clean and quite and nice
Yesterday we went with Daniel to Paraguay (ITS SO CLOSE) to the ruinas de las Jesuitas! It was a very nice trip, but you can see, that Paraguay is much poorer that Argentina or even Uruguay. Daniel left this moring to Iguazu and we will go tomorrow and see him again. We had a great time together. He bought us a T-shirt, food, bus tickets etc.
We acutally want to take him with us, but… he doesnt seem to like – I cant imagine why…
We entered Argentina now for 4 times – isnt that crazy??? 1. from Germany 2. and 3. from Urugay and then from Paraguay. My passport has already a lot of stamps – the enter and departures of Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay – about 10!!!!
Ok, Eva just appeared (I was already wondering, where she could be…)
Ah, one more thing… in the next post!
